The Government encourages the use of new and renewable energy to create energy security of supply in the long term. Indonesia is an archipelago with a load and power generation spread unevenly across the country and electricity interconnection is still limited, it is necessary to search a breakthrough of new and renewable energy through decentralize power generation. The power plant that prospective to meet those needs is a small-scale coal power plant, micro-hydropower, small scale geothermal and solar home system. Decentralize power generation development will need policies to support the dissemination of development.
